Well, the NFL is officially broken. Lets take a look at how the teams stacked up this week. Tier lists made at tiermaker.com.
The Cowboys had a huge win over the Eagles Sunday night and managed to just edge them out for 3rd place this week. They also managed to jump up to S tier with the win. However, the NFC east leaders are still a ways behind the 49ers and Ravens.
The A tier teams were so far ahead that, despite the Chiefs, Dolphins, Jaguars, and Lions all losing, none of them fell off. The Browns, who dropped to B tier last week, jumped right back up and almost to the top at #6. The Lions took the biggest hit with an embarrassing loss to the previously F tier Bears and fell three spots to 9th place.
Boy, oh boy, did this tier flip! The Bengals (#10) moved up four and the Bills (#11), Vikings (#12), and Broncos (#14) all moved up five spots. Meanwhile the Texans (#15) moved down five and the Rams (#16) and Colts (#17) fell 4 spots. I thought about doing a B+ tier again this week for the Bengals and Bills but, I didnt. So, theyre just in regular B tier. Though, they are poised to move up to A tier if they can pull off a couple of wins against the Vikings and Cowboys this week.
The Packers (#18) dropped three spots and landed back in C tier while the Saints (#22) sneaked past the Falcons to join them in C tier. Other than that there was a little bit of shuffling around but no major changes by the best of the worst teams.
The Bears (#27) made fools of my Lions team this week so I had to move them up out of the worst of the worst. And as a reward for taking out the Packers I bumped the Giants (#28) up too. They didnt move in the rankings at all but now theyre just the worst.
The worst of the worst remains the same. The Commanders (#29) and the Cardinals (#30) were on a bye week. And yes, the Patriots (#31) did manage to take out the Steelers and make my playoff predictions even more unlikely. But at this point that just means that I dont have to think about dropping New England to F- tier. Thats how bad they are. They beat a good team that is probably going to the playoffs (as a wildcard now) and they almost caught up with the Cardinals this week.
Not much to say here. The Panthers are just bad. Really really bad.
Should the Eagles still be S tier? Are the Lions going to be able to rally as the end of the season approaches or will they continue falling? Will the Panthers be able to get a second win and finally get out of F- tier? Let me know what you think in the comments!
