Over the last few weeks we took a look at the first third and middle third of the Lions season. After week 12 and the Thanksgiving weekend they should be sitting right around 4-7. Lets take another optimistic look at the final 6 weeks of the 2022 season.

Jaguars @ Lions
The goal is to not get worse, right. Well, the Jaguars were the only team that were worse than the Lions last season and if this rebuild is going to be legit they need to win this one. If not, this might be when people start calling for Campbells head. 5-7

Vikings @ Lions
I have Detroit losing in Minnesota week 3 but hopefully they can win the division game at home. 6-7

Lions @ Jets
Met Life stadium is going to be the Lions home away from home this season. This is another game that a team who is actually rebuilding should be able to win. Are the Lions going to be in the playoff hunt after week 15? 7-7

Lions @ Panthers
I honestly dont know whats going on in Carolina this season but I do know that Detroit isnt going to the playoffs this season. Even with this easy schedule. Best case they miss by 1/2 a game and this one will probably be the deciding moment. 7-8

Bears @ Lions
One last home game and one last glimmer of hope. Just dont look at next weeks opponent. 8-8

Lions @ Packers
Fuck Aaron Rodgers! 8-9

So, there you have it. Its probably optimistic but the Lions could very well go 8-9 this season. Which is the new .500 in the NFL (Can we just add an 18th game please?) But, they have a very easy schedule this year. Only the Eagles, Cowboys, Patriots, Packers, and Bills had winning records in 2021. And of those only the Bills won a game in the playoffs. And sure, the Lions could Lions it up and go 3-14 and finish last again. But as an eternally hopeful fan I choose to believe that things are changing for the better under Coach Campbell.
