Last week we took a look at the first third of the Lions 2022 season. Coming off the bye week I have the Lions at 3-2. Lets see how the middle third of the season looks?
Lions @ Cowboys
The Cowboys are the first opponent this year who was a real playoff threat last season. Combine that with Mike McCarthys 18-8 record vs the Lions and the Lions are at 500. 3-3
Dolphins @ Lions
The Dolphins almost snuck into the playoffs despite going 1-7 to start the year last year. But, Lions head coaches seem to do strangely well against former teams. And, the Dolphins have a brand new head coach for some reason. But, if I had to pick between Goff and Tagovailoa, Id choose Tagovailoa. I think the Lions lose their first home game of the season. 3-4
Packers @ Lions
Fuck Aaron Rodgers 3-5
Lions @ Bears
It wouldnt be a Lions season without a midseason collapse, right? Why not head to Soldier Field to keep the streak going. 3-6
Lions @ Giants
And this is the point in the season when the Lions give you just that little bit of hope again. A road win against a team that they should be able to beat anyway! 4-6
Bills @ Lions
The nice thing about this game is, nobody expects Detroit to win on Thanksgiving. The bad thing is they are going to get destroyed. The Lions are not ready for playoff caliber teams and the Bills have a shot at the Super Bowl this year. So, complete annihilation on a national stage for the Lions on Turkey Day. 4-7
After a hopeful looking first 6 weeks the Lions will come back down to reality after week 12. Luckily they have the long holiday weekend to lick their wounds. With 6 games left they arent out of playoff contention at this point. Though, it probably will take a miracle.
