Ralph (Jurgen Prochnow) is just an innocent engineer who wants to better the world with his car that runs on energy cells instead of gasoline.
Car companies want his technology and oil companies want him dead in this German film from the mid-80s.
For being an action thriller, it sure takes a long time to get going. The pumping 80s soundtrack was great when it was there.
The dialog delivery was pretty stiff, most likely because of how half of the film is dubbed in English.
The movie explores some interesting ideas for the time period, but the execution is kind of bad. What could have been a ripping thriller about future technology and the powers that try to own and/or stop it ends up being a slow wade through boring scene after boring scene. I would have even accepted a horror film about an AI car technology that wants to kill the main character.
