We are officially half way through the season. I wanna take a look back at my preseason Lions picks, see how the first 9 weeks went and determine if any revisions need to be made for the second half of the year.
Eagles @ Lions – Lions Eagles
I picked the lions in an upset in this one and they almost won. Who knew the Eagles would go 8-0.
Commanders @ Lions – Lions
I picked the Lions and they won! And after that, the Commanders turned out to be half way decent, almost.
Lions @ Vikings – Vikings
Again I picked the home team. This one was close, as predicted, but Minnesota held on. And, theyre somehow good?
Seahawks @ Lions – Lions Seahawks
The Seahawks and Broncos are proving that Russel Wilson is not the key to success in 2022. Got this one wrong too. But, again, the Seahawks are somehow good!
Lions @ Patriots – Patriots
Well, I was correct, the Patriots did win this one, but I wouldnt say they have things sorted out yet. But, I would say they embarrassed the shit out of Detroit.

Lions @ Cowboys – Cowboys
Dallas got Prescot back just in time to let the Lions almost beat them.
Dolphins @ Lions – Dolphins
And, Miami gets Tagovailoa back just in time to let the Lions almost beat them as well.
Packers @ Lions – Packers Lions
I never hate being wrong about this one! Fuck Aaron Rodgers! It wasnt pretty, though I did like all the interceptions, but Detroit won and in the end, thats all that matters.
So there you have it. I had the Lions at 3-5 half way through the season. They are actually 2-6 having won one game I thought theyd lose and losing 2 games I hoped they could win. Lets see whats left.
Lions @ Bears – Bears Lions
I picked the Bears during the preseason. And after the victory over the Packers last week I am foolishly optimistic. So, Im going to change my pick. This will put the Lions at 3-6 just like I had them originally after week 10.
Lions @ Giants – Lions
The Giants are 6-2 and the Packers are 3-6. Apparently this is the NFL bizzarro world. I really dont know whats going to happen in this one at all. Just for fun Ill stick with the Lions in what will be (bonus pick) the first Giants loss of an 8 game losing streak to end the 2022 season. 4-6
Bills @ Lions – Bills
Yeah, this one is still a loss. 4-7
Jaguars @ Lions – Lions
The Jag Jaguars have not beaten anyone good this season. And they lost to the rest so the Lions should still be able to beat them. 5-7
Vikings @ Lions – Lions
I just read from a very reliable source that the Vikings are seriously over rated. And since the Lions almost beat them in Minnesota Week 3 I am going to stick with the original pick and put the Lions at a dangerously hopeful 6-7.
Lions @ Jets – Lions Jets
I think the Jets might be legit. Theyre 2-1 in the division with a great win against the Bills last week and they blew out the Dolphins a few weeks ago. They are looking like a contender for a Wildcard spot this season. Maybe the division? The Lions lose this one in New Jersey. 6-8
Lions @ Panthers – Panthers
The Panthers are the worst team in the league at this point in the season. Which is saying something because the Raiders and Texans are really trying to be worse. With that in mind, the Lions will lose this one. Why, I dont know, they dont seem to need a why anymore. 6-9
Bears @ Lions – Lions
Do I think that the Lions are really going to go 5-1 in the division. Yeah, I think they just might! The NFC north is shit this season. Sure, this is only the 4th division win but look at next weeks opponent. 7-9
Lions @ Packers – Packers Lions
Im surprised to learn that it has only been 4 years since the Lions swept the Packers. Well come week 18 itll be 0 years. Fuck Aaron Rodgers. 8-9
Well, there you have it. The Lions end the season 8-9, they will just miss a wildcard spot. And, just to make sure the season was a complete failure, they will have to trade some serious capital to get a decent pick in the draft because they will have finished in the middle of the pack.
