Well there you have it. Pure science at work. If you didnt already know how the power rankings are calculated, its actually pretty simple. Each team gets a point for every game they win and loses a point for every game they lose. They also get points for the wins of the teams the beat and lose points for the loses of the opponents they lose too. For example: The Lions have 1 win and 5 losses, the beat the 3-4 Commanders and lost to the 6-0 Eagles, 5-1 Vikings, 4-3 Seahawks, 3-4 Patriots, and 5-2 Cowboys. Their equation is 1 – 5 + 3 – 0 -1 – 3 – 4 – 2 = -11. And -11 isnt great but they are well above the average for a 1-5 team; which is -14.
