The calculations have been completed and this weeks power rankings are in! Tier lists made at tiermaker.com There werent as many upsets this week but there was a decent amount of movement. And, quite a lot of disappointment.
Philly and Baltimore had big big best teams in the league caliber wins this week. Through 11 weeks, these are my Super Bowl picks. I know mathematically it is very unlikely but it wont surprise me if both of these teams win out the remainder of the season. Which is saying something since they both have several A tier opponents left. But more on that next week.
After a heartbreaker of a loss to the Eagles on Monday Night Football the Chiefs hold on to 3rd place but do fall down a tier. The 49ers and Lions switch spots. Only one of the eight teams the Lions have beaten this season won this week. They are in no danger of falling from A tier but unless they start playing winning teams they certainly arent moving up.
Steelers drop to 10th, fall to B tier, and fire their OC, Matt Canada. At 6-4 they are in 3rd place, only a game above the Bengals, in the hardest division in the league. The Bills had a much need get right game against the Jets. They not only shut the Jets down, which is not hard to do right now, but they also scored plenty on them, which has not always been easy to do this season. Perhaps the game that made me happiest this week was the Vikings prime time loss to the Broncos. Minnesota moved down three spots to 14th while…
…the Broncos jumped up four spots to 17th. Its hard to believe that just four weeks ago Denver was ranked 30th on our power rankings. They have a few more tough games ahead but if they can keep doing what theyre doing (if someone knows what that is, please tell me because Im very confused) they might just find themselves in a wildcard spot.
The Packers moved up three spots to 22nd with a win over the Chargers. This wasnt quite enough to move them up to C tier but it puts them ahead of the Raiders and Jets who moved down to D tier.
I dont like putting this many teams down in F tier. But none of these teams are doing anything productive. I really hate putting a 4-7 team this low but the Commanders have now lost TWICE to the Giants. To the Giants who have only won three games. They just dont get to be in D tier anymore. And the Bears. Boy oh boy did they have me worried on Sunday. They picked off Goff three times, had the ball for twice as long as the Lions, and had a 12 point lead with 4:15 left on the clock. But then they laid down and let Detroit do what ever they wanted. Down to F tier for you too, Chicago!
So, what do you think of this weeks rankings? Should the Chiefs still be S tier? Are there really as many terrible teams as my calculations say there are? Will the Broncos move up to B tier next week?
