This was such a fun and unexpected flick. I read the synopsis and thought I’d give it a try. It’s about a young couple who want to go on a digital vacation away from their devices in a remote cabin in the woods. Well, that’s a great idea, except that they have no idea that the world is being overtaken by aliens.

I loved the minimalism and how moody it was. There was great care taken to build the characters and the tension between them before the tension of the world situation ramped up. I particularly liked the hilarity of the Jack character and his crazy “night visions” he would get after drinking too much alcohol before going to bed.

I’m not sure how I feel about the ending. It was kind of bittersweet, but I don’t know there was any better way to finish it off.
