If a priest hangs himself in a cemetery, does the zombie apocalypse begin? Mayyyyybeeeeee.

More Italian horror from the great Lucio Fulci. The early 80s were a wonderful time to be an Italian filmmaker, because nobody gave a shit if you ripped off everything else that had come before. We’ll just be nice and say it was more of an homage to George Romero and Dario Argento.

My favorite thing about Italian horror is the balls out gore and rocking musical scores. The bloody stuff was nasty and there was plenty to go around. While not as iconic as Italian horror music of Goblin, Fabio Frizzi does an excellent job keeping the soundtrack in step with the visuals.
