The NFL just released the schedule for the 2021 season. There is still a lot of time until the season starts and lots of things could change but I thought it would be fun to predict how the season will go, game by game.

Preseason – @ Steelers
Who gives a shit? Its the preseason. Doesnt matter. Why do they even do this?

Week 1 – 49ers
The 49ers were middle of the road last year and are a team that the lions could potentially beat but they wont. Its gong to be a rough start as the big rebuild starts. Record: 0-1

Week 2 – @ Packers
We get a big national broadcast, Monday night game to show just how dismal the Lions are. Aaron Rodgers will reveal every flaw in the Lions defense. And believe me, there will be plenty. Hopefully Goff and the offense will be able to put up a few points to keep it interesting but it wont be enough. Record: 0-2

Week 3 – Ravens
Over the last three seasons Lamar Jackson has proven that he has all the talent in the world. Now hes got some experience to go with it and I think the Ravens could make a run for the Super Bowl again. The Lions will not. Record: 0-3

Week 4 – @ Bears
Somehow the Bears made the playoffs last year. I doubt it happens again this year. Also, this is one the Lions have to win, and can win. I dont think theyll get the win at Soldier Field though. 0-4

Week 5 – @ Vikings
This is another one the Lions can win. But again, I dont think they win a divisional game on the road. Record: 0-5

Week 6 – Bengals
Here we go, 6 weeks in and the Lions will get their first win. The Bengals were not good last year and I dont think much will change this season. Record: 1-5

Week 7 – @ Rams
Week 7 brings the Lions to sunny California to meet up with Matthew Stafford and the Rams. Itll be interesting to see where the Rams are mid season. The Lions are going to lose this one too. Stafford and the Rams are making a run for the playoffs this season and the Lions dont stand a chance. Record: 1-6

Week 8 – Eagles
Back home, against a team that couldnt even win the worst division in the league last year, I think the Lions get their second win. Record: 2-6

Week 9 – Bye
Well thats the first half of the season. So far we have the Lions losing to each of their division rivals, all road games. A couple of wins against teams that are somehow worse than they are. But, no upsets yet. Tomorrow Ill take a look at the second half of the season and see where the “Silver Crush” ends up at the end of the year.
