Detroit Lions Season Predictions Weeks 13-18

Coming into the final third of the season, the end of the road if you will, I have the Lions sitting at 8-3. This might be optimistic but Im fine with that. Lets see where they get the last 4 wins to end the season 12-5 and in first place in the NFC North. Possibly with a wildcard week bye but probably not?

Lions @ Saints
I cant find any info on how long Carr will be out after his injury in Green Bay this week. Most people are saying it isnt as bad as it could be so theres no reason to think he wont be back by week 13. Hell, he might be back next week. Im not a reporter, do your own research. Regardless, I think the Lions are better off playing against Carr. It was really nice seeing Hutchinson and the gang get after Ridder this week. Now, Ridder is not on the same level as Carr. Maybe in time. But the Lions D Line can get to Carr, especially if the Packers were able to do it. Lions move up to 9-3.

Lions @ Bears
Boy oh boy the Bears look bad through week 3. I know last week I predicted that their week 11 matchup would be a close one, and it could be, but honestly it just feels like the Bears dont know how to football. They dont know what to do with Fields. Detroit wins this one without much trouble. 10-3.

Broncos @ Lions
The whole giving Sean Peyton a bajillion dollars reminds me too much of when the Lions snagged Mooch from the 49ers back at the turn of the century. You have a coach who only say a big bag of money and completely missed what is actually going on in the organization. This should be a walk in the park. 11-3

Lions @ Vikings
The Lions will be one game from clinching the NFC North since the packers will be about 9-5 at this point. The Vikings fans are going to be calling for Kevin OConnells head by this point in the season. Im guessing they will be right around 7-7. Cousins will likely be out with a COVID indecent. And the management will be taking a long hard look at Aaron Rodgers for next year, hoping he is up for completing the Farve Pilgrimage. Despite all this, the Vikings are going to take this one. Theyll pull out some last second bull shit and youll start hearing “same old lions” from all the talking heads. 11-4

Lions @ Cowboys
The Cowboys are going to be in a dead heat with the Eagles for first place in the NFC East and will need every win they can muster. Especially since the Eagles end the season with basically 3 free wins against the Giants, Cardinals, and Giants. The Lions have proven they are ready for playoff caliber teams. They ruin Taylor Swifts night at the season opener after all. But I dont think they beat this Cowboys team coached by their nemesis Mike McCarthy in Dallas. 11-5

Vikings @ Lions
Detroit is going to destroy Minnesota week 18. They will have Cousins back and he is going to get sacked 10 times. Goff, Montgomery, and Williams are going to take their time moving up and down the field. And the Lions are going to eliminate any hopes that the 8-8 Vikings had about sneaking into the seventh wildcard spot. This game will be on a national stage, probably the Fox game of the week and all the talking heads who have been saying “same old Lions” during weeks 16 and 17 will have to shut the fuck up.

Dan Campbell is going to have this team ready for the playoffs. They wont get a bye, either San Francisco or the winner of the NFC North will but they will be in the playoffs and they will be legit. Its likely they face either the Packers or Seahawks but we are a ways away from that right now. More predictions on playoffs coming after week 6.
