NFL 2021 Picks Review – Part 1

Its the worst weekend of the year, Pro Bowl weekend. And since that means that there isnt any meaningful football this week I though I would take a look at my picks from the season and see how well I did. I wrote 4 posts throughout the season to pick the division winners. Preseason, Early Season, Mid Season, and Late Season. Im going to go division by division and see how I did throughout the year. The first line of each section will be the teams I picked in the 4 posts and their power ranking at the time and the division winner with their week 18 ranking.

AFC East – Bills, Bills (8), Bills (15), Patriots (6) – Bills (8)
Should have stuck with the Bills. Josh Allen has proven that he is a force to be reckoned with and the AFC is going to see him and this Bills team in the playoffs a lot over the next decade.

AFC North – Ravens, Ravens (7), Ravens (7), Browns (11) – Bengals (13)
This division… When I posted the Late Season picks the Bengals were ranked 18th and the worst of the 4 teams. But look at them now. They just might win the Super Bowl next week.

AFC South – Jaguars, Titans (17), Titans (2), Titans (8) – Titans (6)
LOL, The Jag Jaguars. Like that was ever going to happen.

AFC West – Chiefs, Chargers (3), Chargers (8), Chiefs (4) – Chiefs (2)
Should have had more faith in the Chiefs. Herbert looked good to start the year over in not San Diego but they couldnt hold it together.

NFC East – Cowboys, Cowboys (3), Cowboys (6), Cowboys (5) – Cowboys (4)
I dont think that this division was ever really in doubt. Sure the Eagles made a run at the end but the Cowboys were never really within reach.

NFC North – Packers, Bears (10), Packers (3), Packers (3) – Packers (1)
Bears was wishful thinking. Packers didnt have any competition at all in the North.

NFC South – Buccaneers, Buccaneers (5), Buccaneers (4), Buccaneers (1) – Buccaneers (3)
There really were 3 bad divisions in the NFC, werent there. The Panthers had a little glimmer of hope at the beginning but it was the Bucs the whole way through.

NFC West – Rams, Rams (2), Cardinals (1), Cardinals (2) – Rams (5)
Its hard to believe that the Cardinals didnt win this division. They were ranked 1st or 2nd the entire season through week 14. And then they lost 3 of their last 4, including a loss to the Lions.

So, it looks like my preseason picks were the best. This season was one of the most bizarre seasons I can remember. Tomorrow I think Ill take a look at how my playoff picks went.
