My favorite holiday is just around the corner. A day when we get together with our friends. The house is filled with children laughing (in the basement so that I dont have to hear it) and dogs playing. Everyone makes delicious food and we eat more than we should, and then a little bit more. On top of all that, theres a football game on. Its the best day of the year.

Philadelphia Eagles vs Kansas City Chiefs – Kansas City Chiefs

Lets take a minute to look at the game. This is a pick post after all. Facts first. We already talked about this a few weeks ago but Jalen Hurtz is the best quarterback in the NFC. Though, the 49ers complete inability to move the ball after Purdy went out does put his name back in the conversation. On top of that, the Eagles had the most Pro Bowl picks in the league at eight. With Hurts under center the Eagles only lost one game this season.

The Chiefs had seven players earn Pro Bowl nods. Patrick Mahomes is already a legend and he has only played 5 season so far as a starter. Heres how each of those seasons have ended for the Chiefs.

• 2018: Lost, in over time, in the AFC Championship
• 2019: Won the Super Bowl
• 2020: Lost in the Super Bowl
• 2021: Lost, in over time, in the AFC Championship
• 2022: Playing in the Super Bowl (and winning again!)

So, for the last five seasons, Andy Reid has taken the Chiefs to the Super Bowl three times. And the two years they didnt make the Super Bowl they lost, in overtime in the AFC Championship game.

If the Eagles are going to win this game they are going to have to do two things. First they are going to have to get to Mahomes. They need to get after him and make him move around and test that ankle. I know I say this every week. “If Team is going to win they need to tackle Quarterback.” But its true. Second they need to score on every drive. This means planning on going for it on 4th down and letting that affect your 3rd down play calling. Field position does not matter to the Chiefs. They will take the ball 99 yards down the field just as easily as 36. And even if they do happen to punt, they have the best punter in the game. And, yes, I also say this every week. “If Team is going to win they have to score more points than Other Team.” But its also true. The Chiefs are going to to score. I dont care how good the Eagles defense is.
