Two Mormon missionaries, Sister Barnes and Sister Paxton (Sophie Thatcher and Chloe East), visit the home of Mr. Reed (Hugh Grant) to preach the Mormon gospel. The encounter goes from bad to worse as he attempts to have them question their faith in increasingly uneasy ways. 

This movie reminded me a little of Barbarian in that it kept taking you further down a rabbit hole. I am going to dub it the “onion peeler” genre, because it keeps peeling away layers to reveal more of the story. Thematically, it questioned religion and belief in interesting ways without being too heavy-handed. 

The small cast of four (three mentioned above and Topher Grace in a bit part) were all excellent. The two Mormon sisters were equal parts naive and frightened, then turning into empowered badasses as it progressed. Hugh Grant was the pitch-perfect reclusive psychopath playing it subtle with arachnid precision seeking to capture his prey.
