Late 80s schlock does not get much better than this. Set in the near future of 1998, the world has been decimated by nuclear war and a group of survivors take refuge in a research building away from the acid rain. As they settle in and start to take showers, something lurks in the shadows.

The creature slowly infects members of the group with some sort of black goo spray from its mouth. Then they either die horrifically or become zombie monsters.

It was comically bad with horrible acting and scenes playing out at a snail’s pace. The creature effects were laughable when they showed too much, but the makeup and effects when people were dying and/or changing were kind of cool. The music was enjoyably 80s and often added pep to flat scenes.

At the end of the day, this is clearly an Alien rip-off in far too many ways. While there is not much redeeming about it, I will say that the few WTF moments were insanely great.
