Yet another retelling of the Dracula story from acclaimed French director Luc Besson. For about $50 million dollars, he can pretend he’s Francis Ford Coppola and it’s 1992. This doesn’t have Keanu Reeves, though, so it’s doomed to fail.
It does have Caleb Landry Jones and Christoph Waltz with a score by Danny Elfman. So there’s that, but that’s not always enough.
Does it look good? Yeah. Does it do anything that makes it worth reimagining (again)? Not really.
If you are really searching, and I mean you just gotta see a new Dracula movie, then this is worth checking out. If you want a really better vampire movie, then check out Sinners or Nosferatu.
