A woman is killed under mysterious and frightening circumstances. A year later, the woman’s husband has moved on with his life, but her twin sister is skeptical about the details of the murder.
It’s hard to talk about this one without giving too much away, because the delightfulness comes from how masterfully the story is revealed to the viewer. This is one of those movies where going in blind makes the experience a bit more rewarding.
This is by far one of the best horror movies I’ve seen in easily a decade or two. It is so perfectly constructed and executed. With each scene, you start out baffled, but quickly begin to see how the pieces fall into place. The acting and characters are dynamic and intriguing. The consistently tense tone keeps you on edge when you have no idea what to expect next.
As far as horror movies go, I usually expect the worst in the form of stupidity, lazy writing, and low production value. I generally feel like running away from the crap when it ends. This was different. I felt compelled to watch it a second time and so I did.
