Who doesn’t like an extraterrestrial spider creature feature? After a meteoric spider egg lands in an apartment building, the little alien spider grows at a fast rate and must eat increasingly larger things.

While it will never be as good as the likes of Arachnaphobia or Tremors, it executes the monster movie formula with near perfect precision. The characters matter as much as they need to and there is an underlying arc about family that glues the plot together. The editing keeps the pace on track without any dull moments. 

The movie doesn’t take itself seriously, so that it can just be a fun time for about an hour and a half. That’s all I need.
