Randy (Johnny Berchtold) is a meek fast food worker who gets a day-long life lesson from his co-worker Benson (Kyle Gallner) after Benson blasts the rest of the fast food workers in a fit of rage.

As the two drive around their podunk town, Benson attempts to help Randy come out of his shell. They visit Randy’s ex-girlfriend to ask why they broke up and gain closure. Then they go see Randy’s second grade teacher, Miss Beard (Liza Weil), who was accidentally blinded in one eye by Randy. The idea is that Randy will apologize and start to live a guilt-free life.

While there weren’t many horror elements of the gory kind, the effectiveness of the uneasy tone made up for it. You feel like you are experiencing the trauma of Randy as he’s held against his will to be the sidekick of this Benson goon who just wants Randy to stand up for himself.

Kyle Gallner is the real MVP here when he plays several layers of psycho asshole mixed with tortured victim of past trauma. You keep wondering what he might do next. By then end, I was satisfied with the outcome.
