I liked this movie better when it was called The Exorcist in the 1970s.
It’s based on true events from 1928 where two priests attempt to exorcise a demon from a young girl. One hour and forty minutes later and I couldn’t care less.
Dan Stevens and Al Pacino play the two priests with total indifference. The only reason I watched this was for Pacino’s performance, but I’m starting to think this was done for the paycheck or maybe a favor for someone.
The thing that really put this one into terrible territory for me was the camera work. The whole thing is filmed in sitcom mockumentary style like The Office or Modern Family. Perhaps they should have thrown in some comedy and it might have been a bit watchable.
